30/09/2025Agape alongside the Roma community in Bulgaria (July 2025)
In July 2025, members of Agape staff, together with a team of partners experienced in the field of Family Life, traveled to Bulgaria to train about 35 Roma church and community leaders from a mountainous region of the country.
The experience proved to be both profound and emotionally rich. The team encountered the great needs of this unique community — a culture different from their own, yet marked by a living and pure faith. The participants attended with deep dedication, showing a thirst for every word, practical example, and concept presented.
The training focused on the fundamental principles of family life, such as:
- Communication within the couple and understanding the differences between men and women,
- Handling conflicts with love and respect,
- Parental responsibility and child upbringing within a framework of safety and spiritual values,
- Faith and forgiveness as forces of unity within the family,
- And the centrality of Christ as the foundation of every healthy relationship.
The aim of the training was to provide practical tools that could be absorbed and adapted to their own cultural context, thus contributing to the positive changes so greatly needed in their communities.
